Setting Your Pricing
Lawnager gives you several ways to set prices depending on how your business works — whether you charge flat rates, tiered packages, or custom job-by-job quotes. This article walks you through each method.
Where Pricing Lives in Lawnager
Your pricing is controlled in two main places:
- •Settings → Services Catalog — base prices for your individual services and materials
- •Packages — tiered pricing bundles you can sell to customers
- •Quotes — custom pricing for individual jobs using the AI estimator or manual entry
Setting Base Service Prices
Your Services Catalog is the foundation of your pricing. Any price you set here flows into quotes and packages automatically.
- •Go to Settings → Services Catalog.
- •Click an existing service or + Add Service to create a new one.
- •Enter the service name, description, and your Price.
- •Set a pricing type — flat rate or per unit (e.g., per square foot, per visit).
- •Add any default materials and their costs if applicable.
- •Click Save.
Tip: Keep your base prices at your typical rate. You can always adjust up or down on individual quotes without changing the catalog.
Setting Prices in Packages
Packages let you offer tiered pricing (e.g., Basic, Standard, Premium) that customers can accept directly through their portal.
- •Go to Packages in the main menu.
- •Click + New Package or open an existing package template.
- •Add the services included in this package from your Services Catalog.
- •Set the Package Price — this can be lower than the sum of individual services if you want to offer a bundle discount.
- •Repeat for each tier.
- •Click Save, then use Bulk Send to send the package to customers.
Common pitfall: If a service isn't in your Services Catalog yet, it won't appear as an option when building a package. Add it to the catalog first.
Setting Prices on Individual Quotes
For custom jobs, you set pricing directly on the quote.
- •Go to Quotes and click + New Quote.
- •Select the customer and add services.
- •Use the AI Estimator to get a suggested price based on property size and job details, or enter your price manually.
- •Adjust line items, quantities, and materials as needed.
- •The Materials Calculator will add material costs automatically if you've set them in your catalog.
- •Set a deposit amount if you require one before work begins.
- •Click Send Quote when ready.
Tip: The AI Estimator gives you a starting point — you're always in control of the final number. Review it before sending.
Pricing and Tax
If you charge sales tax, make sure it's configured before sending quotes or invoices.
- •Go to Settings → Payments and enable tax.
- •Set your tax rate.
- •Tax will be applied automatically to invoices generated from jobs.
For full details, see the Tax & Payment Settings article.
How Pricing Flows to Invoices
Once a job is marked complete, Lawnager auto-generates an invoice based on the job's quoted price. You don't need to re-enter pricing at the invoice stage.
- •If a deposit was collected on the quote, it's automatically deducted from the invoice total.
- •You can review the invoice before it's sent to the customer.
Quick Tips
- •Update your catalog regularly. If your costs go up, update base prices in Settings → Services Catalog so new quotes reflect your current rates.
- •Don't undercut yourself on packages. Check that your package price still covers your labor and materials before sending.
- •Use materials pricing. Adding material costs to your catalog means the Materials Calculator can factor them into quotes automatically — no mental math required.
