Customer Loyalty Program: Rewarding Clients and Building Long-Term Retention
The Customer Loyalty Program lets you run a branded rewards program for your clients — think points, perks, and seasonal bundles — all built into Lawnager. It's a Pro plan feature designed to help you keep customers coming back season after season.
Plan requirement: The Customer Loyalty Program is available on the Pro plan ($99/mo) only. To upgrade, go to Settings → Billing.
Setting Up Your Loyalty Program
Go to Settings → Customer Loyalty to get started.
You have two options:
- •AI Setup — Answer a few questions about your business and Lawnager generates a full loyalty program configuration for you. This is the fastest way to get started.
- •Manual Setup — Build your program from scratch using the options below.
Naming Your Program
Give your loyalty program a custom name that fits your brand — for example, "Green Star Rewards" or "Turf Club." This name appears in your customer portal and on your generated website, so make it something your clients will recognize.
Set your program name under Settings → Customer Loyalty → Program Name.
How Customers Earn Points
Customers earn points automatically on every qualifying payment — card, cash, check, or Venmo. You don't need to do anything manually. Points are tracked in each customer's portal account.
Building Your Rewards Catalog
Define the rewards customers can redeem their points for. Common examples:
- •"$10 off next invoice"
- •"Free edging with any mow"
- •"One free lawn treatment"
To add a reward, go to Settings → Customer Loyalty → Rewards Catalog and click Add Reward. Set the reward name, description, and point cost.
Tip: Start simple. Two or three clear rewards are more motivating than a long list of confusing options.
Setting Up Tenure Perks
Tenure perks automatically unlock for customers who reach loyalty milestones — rewarding your longest-standing clients without any manual work on your end.
Perks unlock at:
- •6 months — e.g., priority scheduling
- •12 months — e.g., a free service
- •18 months — e.g., a discount on add-ons
- •24 months — e.g., a premium free service
Configure each milestone under Settings → Customer Loyalty → Tenure Perks.
Care Plan Bundles
Care plan bundles are prepaid seasonal packages you can offer through the loyalty program. Customers pay upfront for a bundle of services (e.g., a full spring cleanup package), and the services are scheduled out over the season.
Set up bundles under Settings → Customer Loyalty → Care Plan Bundles.
Common pitfall: Don't create bundles without first making sure the included services exist in your Services Catalog (Settings → Services).
Price Lock
When Price Lock is enabled, a customer's rate is frozen at the price on their first invoice — it won't increase as long as they stay active. This is a strong retention tool for customers worried about price hikes.
Toggle this on or off per customer segment under Settings → Customer Loyalty → Price Lock.
Neighborhood Clusters
Lawnager can auto-detect customers who are located near each other and offer them a route discount for booking on the same day. This helps you maximize efficiency on tight routes while giving customers a reason to refer their neighbors.
Enable this under Settings → Customer Loyalty → Neighborhood Clusters.
Where Customers See Their Loyalty Status
Customers can view their points balance, available rewards, and tenure perks directly in the customer portal. If you've built a website using Lawnager's website builder, the program is also displayed there automatically.
Make sure your customers have portal access before promoting the program. If they haven't been invited yet, see the Portal Invites & Verification article.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of the Program
- •Use AI Setup first — you can always adjust the configuration afterward.
- •Mention your loyalty program name in your marketing campaigns (Marketing → Campaigns) to drive awareness.
- •Review which rewards are being redeemed most often under Reports → Customer Metrics to refine your catalog over time.
- •Pair tenure perks with invoice payment reminders to keep customers engaged between visits.
