Crew GPS Tracking
Lawnager automatically tracks your crew's location through the field app whenever they check in to a job. This gives you real-time visibility into where your team is, helps verify job site arrivals, and creates a location record for each completed job.
How GPS Tracking Works
GPS tracking is built into the Crew Field App — there's no separate setup required. Location data is captured at two key moments:
- •Check-in — when a crew member taps Check In on an assigned job
- •Check-out — when a crew member taps Check Out to complete the job
This records the GPS coordinates at both timestamps, confirming when your crew arrived and when they left the job site.
Important: GPS tracking only works when crew members use the field app to check in and out. Location is not tracked continuously in the background between jobs.
What You Can See as an Owner or Manager
From your Lawnager account, you can review GPS data tied to individual jobs:
- •Go to Jobs from the main navigation.
- •Open any completed or in-progress job.
- •Scroll to the job activity section to see the check-in and check-out timestamps along with the recorded location.
This is especially useful for verifying that work was performed at the correct address and for resolving any customer questions about service times.
Setting Up the Field App for Your Crew
Before GPS tracking can work, your crew members need to be set up in the app:
- •Go to Settings → Team Permissions and invite your crew members.
- •Have each crew member download the Lawnager Crew Field App on their mobile device.
- •They log in with the credentials they receive via invite.
- •When prompted, crew members must allow location permissions for the app. Without this, GPS check-ins will not record a location.
Tip: If a crew member's check-in shows no location data, ask them to check their phone's location settings and make sure the Lawnager app has permission to access location while using the app.
Crew Member Experience
From the crew member's side, the process is straightforward:
- •Open the field app and view assigned jobs for the day.
- •Tap the job to open it, then tap Check In upon arriving at the site.
- •Complete the job — upload photos, complete checklists, and fill in any required details.
- •Tap Check Out when the work is done.
The app also includes a Back-to-App button so crew members can quickly return to their job view after using other phone features, and it supports Spanish language for crews who prefer it (switchable in the app settings).
Common Issues
No location recorded on check-in
- •The crew member likely denied location permissions. They need to go to their phone's Settings → Apps → Lawnager and enable location access.
- •Make sure they have a working GPS signal — poor signal indoors or in rural areas can affect accuracy.
Wrong location recorded
- •This can happen if the crew member checked in before arriving at the job. Remind your team to check in only once they're on site.
Crew member can't see their jobs in the app
- •Confirm the job has been assigned to them in Lawnager. Go to the job and verify the correct crew member is listed under Assigned Crew.
Privacy Note
Lawnager only captures location at check-in and check-out. The app does not continuously track your crew's movements or location between jobs.
