Crew Field App: Check-Ins, Checklists, and On-Site Tools
The Lawnager crew field app gives your team everything they need to manage jobs from the field — without calling you. From checking in at a job site to uploading before-and-after photos, the app keeps your crew organized and your records clean.
This guide covers what your crew sees and how to make the most of the field app.
Who Uses the Field App?
The field app is designed for crew members, not office managers. Your crew accesses it from their phones. You manage everything on the main Lawnager dashboard. The two sync in real time.
Note: Crew members must be added to your team before they can access the field app. See Settings → Team Permissions to add crew members and set their access level.
How Crew Members Log In
- •Open the Lawnager app on their mobile device.
- •Enter the login credentials you set up for them.
- •The app opens directly to their assigned jobs for the day.
The app is available in English and Spanish — crew members can switch languages from their profile settings inside the app.
Checking In to a Job
When a crew member arrives at a job site:
- •Tap the assigned job from their job list.
- •Tap Check In.
- •The app logs the check-in time and captures their GPS location automatically.
You'll see the check-in recorded in real time on your dashboard under the job's status.
Tip: GPS check-in helps you confirm crew arrived on time and protects you if a customer ever questions whether a visit happened.
Completing Job Checklists
If you've assigned a checklist to a job or service, your crew will see it inside the job view.
- •Tap the job to open it.
- •Scroll to the Checklist section.
- •Check off each item as it's completed.
Checklists are tied to the job record, so you can review them later from your dashboard. This is especially useful for recurring maintenance jobs where consistency matters.
Uploading Photos
Crew members can upload photos directly from the field app:
- •Open the job.
- •Tap Add Photo.
- •Take a new photo or choose one from their camera roll.
- •Photos are attached to the job record instantly.
Encourage your crew to upload before-and-after photos for every job. These photos appear in the job record on your dashboard and can be referenced if a customer raises a concern.
Checking Out
When the job is complete:
- •Tap Check Out inside the job.
- •The app records the check-out time and final GPS location.
- •The job status updates automatically.
Once a job is marked complete, Lawnager can auto-generate an invoice and send it to the customer — no extra steps needed on your end.
The Back-to-App Button
If a crew member gets pulled out of the Lawnager app (to check a text, open maps, etc.), they'll see a Back to App button when they return to their phone. This makes it easy to jump back into the active job without searching for the app again.
What Crew Members Cannot Do
The field app is intentionally limited to keep things simple for your crew. Crew members cannot:
- •View customer billing information or invoices
- •Edit job details or pricing
- •Access other crew members' jobs
- •View your business reports or dashboard KPIs
Access is controlled by the permissions you set in Settings → Team Permissions.
Common Pitfalls
- •Crew can't see their jobs? Make sure the job is assigned to them and the job date is correct.
- •GPS not logging? The crew member may have location permissions turned off. They'll need to enable location access for the Lawnager app in their phone settings.
- •Checklist not showing up? Checklists must be set up in your services catalog or attached to the specific job before the crew arrives.
