Canceling Your Subscription or Deleting Your Account

How to downgrade to the free plan, cancel a paid subscription, or permanently delete your Lawnager account and data.

Last updated September 20, 2026

Plans change, seasons end, businesses sell. Here's how to wind down — from pausing your spend to removing everything.

Just want to stop paying?

You don't have to delete anything. Go to Settings → Billing & Plan and cancel your paid subscription — your account moves to the free Starter plan and your data stays exactly where it is. You can keep using Lawnager free forever, and upgrade again any time (spring has a way of coming back).

This is the right choice for seasonal shutdowns: cancel in November, everything's waiting for you in March — customers, history, website, all of it.

Deleting your account permanently

If you want your data gone, go to Settings → Delete Account.

This is permanent and immediate. There is no recovery, no grace period, no "restore" to call support about. Deleting removes:

  • Your account and sign-in
  • Your business profile and branding
  • All customer, job, quote, and invoice records
  • Your services and pricing catalog
  • Crew members and their access
  • Your loyalty program
  • Notification history
  • Your Stripe connection (your Stripe account itself is yours and is untouched — only the link to Lawnager is removed)

To confirm, the page asks you to type DELETE — that's deliberate friction, because there's no undo.

Before you delete

  • Export what you need first. Download CSV exports from Reports (financial, customer, payroll data), and contact support for a full data export if you need one.
  • Money in flight: make sure outstanding invoices are collected — after deletion, customers' portal links stop working.
  • Selling the business? Your Lawnager records (clean revenue history, documented recurring customers) are part of what a buyer pays for — hand the account over rather than deleting it, and check the Business Value page before you set a price.

Questions first?

If something's not working and that's why you're leaving, email support before you delete — a lot of "I'm done" moments turn out to be a five-minute fix. Either way, your data belongs to you and leaving is always this simple.
