Tax & Payment Settings
Payment Methods
Go to Settings → Payments to configure how customers can pay you.
| Method | Setup | |--------|-------| | Stripe | Enter your Stripe secret key. Customers pay by card in the portal. | | Cash | Toggle on and optionally add instructions. You mark invoices paid manually. | | Check | Enter your "payable to" name and mailing address. | | Venmo | Enter your Venmo handle. Customers see a direct link. |
You can enable multiple methods — customers choose at checkout.
Sales Tax
Enable sales tax in Settings → Payments:
- •Tax rate — enter your percentage (e.g., 8.25%)
- •Tax label — customizable (e.g., "Sales Tax", "State Tax")
- •Tax is calculated and shown on invoices automatically
- •Per-customer tax rates can be set on individual customer profiles (for cross-county work)
Auto-Invoice on Job Completion
When enabled (Settings → Payments), completing a job automatically:
- •Creates an invoice for the job amount (minus any deposit already collected)
- •Sends the invoice to the customer via email
- •Shows a toast confirmation
This works from all completion paths — the job detail page, the jobs list, and the crew field app.
Test Mode
In Settings → Notifications, toggle Test Mode to redirect all emails and SMS to your own address. This lets you test the full invoice and notification flow without bothering customers. All messages get a [TEST] prefix.
